Here is a list of common questions that our clients ask us. If you need more information don’t hesitate to get in touch with us.

How much should I budget for my construction project?

The truth is, there is no easy way to answer that question. In recent years, we have seen a great deal of price fluctuations in construction costs related to both labour and materials. Although there are gauges that can be utilized to average square footage cost of building and renovating, circumstances such as time of the year, level of finishes and project duration can all impact the final costs. It’s always best to start by consulting with a construction firm like East Pro Contracting, before establishing any firm budgets.

When planning a new home renovation or construction project, where is the best place to start?

It’s always best to start by consulting with a reputable contracting firm. Pricing aside, they will have recommendations on how to begin the design process, materials as well as experience with obtaining proper permitting through the local authority.

Do we need to have a design confirmed in advance?

Absolutely not! We work with many highly skilled designers and architects who can assist in creating a design that checks all of your boxes. If you already have an idea of the design or style you are looking for or if have already engaged someone for drawings, that is fine. We can work with others to start the process of creating a construction cost analysis of that proposal.

What happens after we have reviewed the quote and would like to move forward?

Following an approved estimate, a pre-construction meeting/consultation will be arranged where scheduling, design, finishing materials and much more will be discussed.

How long will my project take to complete?

Each project is unique and so timelines may vary, depending on the full scope of work, inspection requirements and of course, factoring in the unforeseen circumstances, such as weather or material delays. A Project itinerary is provided prior to starting, to ensure that any information pertaining to estimated scheduling is outlined.

Do we have to buy anything prior to the renovation?

Your personalized quotation will have an allowance in place, for all materials required. Whether it is flooring, mouldings, cabinetry or plumbing fixtures. We have a variety of suppliers and contacts that we work with that you are welcome to browse and shop with. If you choose to purchase certain finishing materials on your own, we will simply deduct the value of that allowance from the invoice total.

How does payment for my project work?

Depending on the specific schedule requirements for your project, a payment plan will be introduced after approval of proposed estimate. The number of payments and values can vary depending on project length and preconstruction requirements. Payments are traditionally received via Cheque, Bank Draft, Money Transfer or Cash.
